Affiliation Guidelines - Who Can I AP?
Affiliate players are a great way to bolster your team roster in a time of need, however there are guidelines that must be followed. Clarification on who can affiliate to each level is included here.

Affiliation Guidelines

All affiliations must follow the guidelines from HEO and UOVMHL.

Under 11 to Under 18

House League C
Rostered Players can affiliate to:
- Same age level Competitive team (example U11C to U11 Rep)
- Same age level House B team (example U11C to U11B)
- Next age level House B team (example U11C to U13B)
- Next age level House C team (example U11C to U13C)

House League B
Rostered Players can affiliate to:
- Same age level Competitive team (example U13B to U13 Rep)
- Next age level House B team (example U13B to U15B)
- Next age level House C team (example U13B to U15C)

Competitive League
Rostered Players can affiliate to:
- Next age level Competitive team (example U15 Rep to U18 Rep)
A Competitive player may not affiliate to a house league team under any circumstance.

Under 7 and Under 9

- Under 7 players are not permitted to affiliate to any higher age classification at any time.
- Under 9 players are not permitted to affiliate to any higher age classification except as follows: Second year U9 players may affiliate to a higher age team (U11) after January 15th of the current season.

UOVMHL Rules - All Levels

During regular season and playoffs, teams with less than 13 rostered skaters may use affiliated players to increase their roster to a maximum of 13 skaters.

When teams have 13 or more rostered skaters, affiliated players may only be used when a rostered player is absent, and on a one-for-one basis.

Affiliate goaltenders are only to be used when a team's regular goaltender is unavailable.

How To Affiliate a Player
Download the Affiliation Permission Form located within the UOVMHL Documents page.
Review the instructions and ensure you understand the requirement when there is a game conflict: the obligation is that the affiliated player must play with their normally rostered team and not the affiliated team.
Understand the maximum number of games that a player may play as an affiliated player.
Complete the form and submit to your Association Registrar who will forward along to District Registrar for review.
Once approved, your Association Registrar will update team rosters.

GameSheet - Using Affiliated Player at a game
Affiliated players must be added to your GameSheet roster in the same manner in which you entered your regular roster, either on computer or on iPad before a game.
You will need to ensure that the Status field is marked as Affiliate (Regular is default).
If an affiliated player is playing in a game, simply mark them as Playing
Important: If a rostered affiliated player is NOT playing in a game, ensure that on the game sheet they are marked as Not Playing. Failing to do so will increase their count of games played which may cause the player to reach their maximum number of games permitted.
